Just Acts Play Fest: 2024 Plays!

The Just Acts Play Festival will be held in February 2024, in the Lower Theatre at Knox United Church

Thank you to all the Playwrights who shared their amazing plays for this years Just Acts Play Fest. We only have room for 4 plays and it was a very difficult choice to make. We encourage all the playwrights to continue working on their scripts.

Urban Playwright's Club

Urban Playwright’s Club

​

Are you a playwright looking for feedback, inspiration, or writing accountability? Join this monthly meet-up of playwrights and hone your writing skills by sharing a scene from your script. Whether you’re working on your first play, or are an established playwright, all levels of experience are welcome.

​

Attendees will be asked to bring a theatrical work-in-progress and have the chance to participate in reading each other’s work aloud. Feedback/suggestions will only be offered by group members at the playwright’s request.

​

Club Leader: Sarah Glubish, Creative Team member of Urban Stories Theatre. Sarah’s written work has been produced through Urban Stories Theatre, Clowns With Issues, New Vintage Theatre, Prairie Sky Productions, Grid View Theatre, and most recently by Listen To Your Mother NYC, where she performed a monologue she wrote about her experience with motherhood.

Where: Knox United Church, 506 Fourth Street SW When: Mondays 6:30-8:30 pm monthly

Urban Stories Theatre Mission

To create an inclusive space to learn, share, explore and nurture local artists creating original work by giving them the opportunity to participate in play festivals, workshops and performances.
